I am also a piano technician. Certified by Universidad Europea Miguel de Cervantes. I tune and repair any kinds of pianos (vertical and grand pianos), and I have experience restoring pianos, specially German and French pianos from the Romantic era. Although I have complete knowledge of all piano mechanisms.
My piano tuning is done completely by ear, only using a diapason. Tunings can be done between 435Hz and 446Hz, according to the needs. I can tune using the series of Fifths and serieses of major Thirds. This is the way in which pianos are tuned at auditoriums such as the Royal Albert Hall.
For the certification, I went through 1000 hours of training. But I have tuned many pianos since 2020 (when I got my certificate). In total it will be arount 2000 hours.
I have been a teacher and judge at the Certamen Nacional de Afinación de Pianos (Spain’s National Piano-Tuning Contest) in Gijón. The most important tuning contest that takes place in Spain.
The cost for a full standard tuning is 120€ for a vertical piano and 150€ for a Grand piano. Any other services will have to be talked through.
