RED 2026 is a series of large-scale red paintings by BROK (Kenneth Clark), a contemporary painter based in Berlin. For the last three years I’ve painted only in red — oil on canvas, some as large as 2.5 × 1.8 metres — because red is the colour of passion, and passion is how I see the world around me.

These are deep, saturated reds: big pieces that catch the light and shine so brightly they almost become mirrors. They’re full of detail that only the light reveals — depending on the day and the hour, some of it steps forward and the rest stays hidden, so no two viewings are ever quite the same.

Red is the colour of passion, and passion is one of the most important and admirable traits a person can carry. I want these paintings to hang on walls where you breathe it in — that hunger for life Sade always sang about. The series was shown recently at Soho House Berlin, and it’s now complete.

Each work is oil on canvas, painted at scale — from roughly 2 × 1.5 m up to 2.5 × 1.8 m — and photographed by Ivan Polezhaev.
